We had a pretty random/wonderful weekend trip.
A while a ago, a drug company approached
my Dad about attending a meeting in Orlando, Florida.
My parents first thought was, "that would be
so fun to take Jason and Kaitlin with us so
that they can go to Harry Potter Land."
They were of course excited and could not wait to go.
My parents only gave them one condition.
Jason had to keep up his grades.
It's amazing what a little motivation did for him.
He got his best grades ever.
We are so proud of him.
But the story is not over, come to find out
Kaitlin had a volleyball tournament in California that same weekend.
So my parents randomly decided that
we should just do a boys and girls trip.
All of the boys would go to Florida and all
of the girls would go to Newport.
Everyone was so excited for the weekend get away.
We put the boys on the plane Thursday.
It was pretty funny seeing a 26 year old, a 24 year old, and a 15 year old
flying across the country for an amusement park.
Ryan and Dustin just laughed about it.
They were like, are we seriously flying
across the country for an amusement park.
The boys LOVED the theme park.
They loved being able to get a little glimpse into Harry's world.
I think their favorite part was the the butter beer.
I am pretty sure they went back multiple times.
Jason enjoyed the trip the most though.
He loved not having any of the girls there
nagging him and telling him what to do.
I think he felt pretty cool hanging out with the older guys.
His favorite part was when they went to I-Hop at 2 in the morning.
He was like "Mom and Dad would never let me do this."
I know that the boys had fun and all but
I dont think it came close to how much fun the girls had.
I mean whats funner than the beach, good food,
great shopping, and my two best friends.
We stayed in Vacation Village in Laguna Beach which
always brings back a flood of memories.
We had so many good times staying in
that hotel with all of our family friends.
We went running on the beach, and then ate
at one of my favorite breakfast places in the world.
The Beach House.
This place is so good.
After then we just spent the morning walking around
all of the fun shops in Laguna.
I love to window shop.
I love just seeing what every shop has to offer.
The rest of the day was spent at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza.
I was in heaven.
Talk about some of the greatest shopping of all times.
We saw "Water for Elephants" and went out to eat at my favorite place ever.
Newport Fresh.
Dustin and I found this little gem when we were on out honeymoon.
It serves sushi (that is to die for good and super cheap) and philly cheese steaks.
It sounds totally random but it is so good.
I cant ever go to Southern California now without eating here.
We spent the next day watching Kaity play volleyball.
I could not believe how good she has gotten.
She is just on a whole different playing level.
It was so much fun for me to watch her play.
She is so dang tall and athletic.
We spent the rest of the day shopping, eating, and hanging out.
The best part of the trip was being with my mom and my little sister.
I love these two women to death and I LOVE spending time with them.
We laughed until we cried.
We shopped until we couldn't walk any longer.
We ate amazing food.
(There was of course chocolate chip cookies involved)
And we never stopped talking.
It was the perfect weekend!
